Arranged Marriage To An Egotistical Asshole
Chapter 1
I've spent my entire life daydreaming, imagining myself as the damsel in distress that's guarded by a fire-breathing dragon, for as long as I can remember I've been trying to make my life into a story.
One day staring up at the ceiling I realised that for as long as I could remember all I'd been trying to do was make my life into something interesting, into something that was book-worthy. I guess that never really worked out for me huh?
I also realised that day, staring up at my ceiling, that my life was incredibly boring.
Almost too boring to put into words. Almost. If my life so far was a book, it would be the kind of book that bores people to death as they read it.
Well, you've probably grasped just about how boring my life is by now.
If not let me summarise it for you in two words: deathly boring.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
I groaned and sat up.
"Yeah?" I asked, a little cranky.
"Miss, your presence is requested downstairs," said Mary, one of the few maids.
I sighed. "OK, I'll be down in a minute," I attempted to make myself look resonably presentable. I then opened my (yes, you guessed it!) white door.
Man, this house has a hell of a lot of white in it. Gosh!
I arrived in the living room a few seconds later.
"Now, Selene, honey I know this is going to be quite hard for you but..."
What I heard next left me speachless and fuming with rage.
"H-how could you do this to me?!!" I spluttered in my anger.
"Honey, It's all been planned, we signed a contract and everything!"
said my Dad, who was freakishly calm about marrying his daughter off to some RANDOM STRANGER!!!
"Did you ever think about...I don't know- MAYBE CONSULTING ME BEFORE YOU MARRIED ME OFF TO SOME RANDOM STRANGER??!!"
I ran upstairs, still fuming, with tears in my eyes. I landed on my bed, right back at square one again.
Except this time everything was different, my life was possibly book-worthy, but not at all in the way I wanted.
