//We Run This Town//Chapter 029// Stays In Italy (Part Three)
“Detective Burke!” Enzo couldn’t believe it.
“What?” Apparently neither could Gemma. “You hired the law?”
“If you can get a cop to go dirty, they can be a great asset.” Antonio confirmed as he got up to get the phone but it was already ringing before he could get to it. He looked to everyone and signalled for them to be quiet. It could be whoever had Lilianna.
Answering it, the voice was yelling before he had a chance to say ‘hello.’ “I sware Antonio, if you’ve done anything with my son, I’ll bury you!”
“Burke?”
“Who the fuck else!” Trevor Burke responded with such ferocious anger Antonio got a sick feeling in his stomach, “I come home and find my lock blown off my back door and my son is missing! My wife is in hysterics, is this because I refused to give you the...”
“Shut up,” Antonio cut him off. “Lilianna is missing too. I was about to call you about it to see if I could get your help. I didn’t have anything to do with what happened at your residence and I didn’t touch your son.” He waited a moment for Trevor to take it all in. “It can’t be a coincidence that both Gavin and Lili are missing. Someone must have them.”
“What? Burke and Lili!” Gemma shouted in anger, “why would someone do that? They don’t speak.”
Antonio shot his niece a glare and she silenced herself. He spoke into the receiver. “Get over here, we’ll figure this out.” Trevor Burke hung up and Antonio wasn’t sure if the law man would show up or not. He turned back to his family and close friends. His employees his mafia. “No one takes one of ours.”
“Someone hurt Serge,” Maximo said boldly his hand clenched on the table. “And we still don’t know who.” Faith ran her fingers down Maximo’s biceps trying to calm him he looked down at the table and let out a shaky breath.
Everyone was going over theories and Contessa felt her heart squeeze. Her baby girl was missing, first Sergio, now Lilianna. She looked to her eldest son, Maximo looked devastated. What was happening, they had everything, and now it was shattering.
Everyone was going over theories, and when the doorbell rang Antonio got it himself. “Trevor.”
“Antonio,” Trevor gave a nod. “Has anyone called?”
“Other than you, no.” Antonio replied leading the law man through the house and into the dining area. “Everyone, Detective Trevor Burke.” Mostly glares were sent his way, only a few people nodded a welcome.
“Who would target Lilianna and Gavin?” Lucia asked, “they’re in different worlds.”
Trevor answered his phone when it rang, ignoring the everyone for a moment, “Mr Burke, your son did not show up for tutoring today, is he ill?”
“Yes,” Trevor responded, “sorry, I didn’t call earlier.”
“That isn’t a problem Mr Burke, the girl he was suppose to be tutoring today didn’t show up either, I just wanted to make sure there wasn’t a problem.”
“Would you be able to tell me who it was that he was suppose to be tutoring today, I’ll remind him to make it up to whoever it was when he gets up.”
“Oh, yes, it was Lilianna Lombardi.”
Trevor let out a breath, “alright thanks.” He hung up the phone and looked to everyone, “Gavin missed his tutoring session today... the one with your daughter.”
Blaire laughed uneasily, “that explains why she didn’t want to tell us who was tutoring her.”
Antonio shook his head. “So they have been together.”
“Which means?” Blaire asked.
“One could be bait,” Preston said. “You said your lock was shot off? I’d say someone took Gavin to get to Lili.”
“But who?” Antonio roared breaking one of the expensive glass orbs against the wall in frustration.
Enzo sighed, “she’s my niece, Antonio, I too am angered too anyone who would be so bold...”
“So bold,” Antonio repeated and the brother’s looked at each other.
“You think?”
“Valentino’s?”
Enzo nodded. “Has to be.”
“Valentino’s?” Faith questioned.
“Our father, and grandfather took the business from the Valentino family. They are known for their bold style, and using people against each other or using one to get to another. Shooting off locks rather than picking it.” Antonio shook his head. “Idiot.”
“So you’re saying one of the Valentino family has my son?”
“And my daughter,” Antonio agreed. “But where?”
“They always were cliche brother.” Enzo spoke typing into his computer. “Warehouses, slaughterhouses, anything creepy and abandoned.”
“This is New York, even things abandoned have homeless living in them.” Trevor spoke angrily.
“Unless it’s owned.”
“What? How can it be abandoned and owned dad?” Gemma asked.
“It’s no longer functional by law,” Enzo responded, “but the warehouse by the ports and the surrounding area are owned by Jeff Valentino.”
“You think they would be so stupid?” Ceasario asked.
Preston was already on his feet grabbing his bag, “know they would be.” Ceasario stood too and then Adam.
“Wait.” Antonio said. “We aren’t going to all run into this. Enzo, bring up the layout of the place.” Enzo did just that, studying it quickly Antonio spoke. “Ceasario, find a good perch on one of the shipping containers, if anyone but Lili, Gavin, or one of the team come out, shoot them.” Ceasario nodded.
“Preston, Charlie, Trevor and I will go in.” Antonio looked to his brother, “you’re going to stay here with the wives and children.” Enzo looked ready to protest but Antonio put up his hand, “if I die you take over. We agreed years ago we both don’t go into something.”
“You should be the one staying out brother, I’ll get Lili.”
“No, you’ll stay here.”
Enzo sat back down and didn’t argue anymore.
“Adam, Enrico, I want you two to go to the hospital and stay with Sergio, check anyone who goes in to see him, if they don’t check out one hundred percent send them to the morgue.” Adam nodded grabbed his keys and headed out with Enrico.
“The rest of you stay here with Enzo, make sure this place stays secure... Serena you still got all your medical supplies here?”
“Yes, I’ll set up incase anyone comes back injured.”
“Good. Lets go.”

Outside the warehouse Preston, Trevor, Charlie and Antonio waited until Ceasario was in position with his long range sniper rifle before they started weaving through the shipping containers. “How you want to do this boss?” Preston asked as they took a moment to check their weapons.
“How good of a shot are you Trevor?” Antonio asked.
“I’m a cop,” Trevor responded hotly.
“Preston, Trevor you’ll go in first, I’ve had people to do this shit for me and I don’t know how good of a shot I am now,” Antonio promised himself he’d be back on target practice asap. “Charlie make sure we don’t get ambushed from behind.”
“Yes sir.” Charlie responded shoving a extra clip into the back of his pants.
“Everyone ready?” Antonio asked and everyone nodded.
