Sweeter Than Heaven [Supernatural] Hotter Than Hell (15) Need You Now
Audrey waited, and waited. It had been weeks since the werewolf incident. Dean and Gabriel had found it already killed. “It’s fucking weird,” she muttered. In the past week she’d regained her equilibrium and Gabriel trusted her to be a safe driver again, which was why she was behind the wheel.
“What is?” Gabriel turned the map in his hand trying to figure it out.
“The werewolf thing.”
“Get over it, another hunter got their first. Whatever, I didn’t have to hunt anymore with Dean and now we are back on the road. Now pay attention, there’s been reports of all kinds of demonic activity around so get your head in the game.
“My head is in the game,” Audrey shot back looking at her brother. “It’s just that-“ There was a sick crack and Audrey stomped on the breaks, the car fish tailed and eventually slid to a stop. “Did... did you see... are you okay?”
“I’m fine,” Gabriel breathed heavily, “you’re bleeding.”
Audrey wiped a bit of blood from her forehead. “I’m okay, it’s not deep.” Breathing heavily Audrey looked through the back window which was mostly covered in dirt. “Did you see anything? Gabriel shook his head, and Audrey pushed the button on her seatbelt to release it before opening the door, Gabriel did the same.
“Oh my god!” Gabriel ran faster than Audrey and got to the contorted body of a woman first. “Oh my god, are you okay?”
Audrey stopped short, she couldn’t help but feel sick to her stomach. The woman was dead, she had to be dead, there was no one who could survive being hit like that!
Gabriel reached for a pulse and the woman’s hand shot up and grabbed his wrist and threw him into a tree. Aubrey heard something crack. Her throat felt like it was closing up, as she watched Gabriel’s body fall to a heap in the dead leaves.
“I’ve had enough of you two.”
Aubrey couldn’t take her attention from Gabriel. There was something inside her that told her he was dead. That he wouldn’t be getting back up. He was dead. He was really gone. She swallowed hard trying to be able to breath when the sobs started clawing at her throat. She turned her head slowly to the woman who was back on her feet, long chocolate locks and demonic black eyes.
“Meg.”
“One more FUCKING Lutrelli.” Meg breathed out in a huff. “This is a lovely day. I get you two off my back for good. Then there is only the Winchester’s to worry about.”
Audrey felt like she should fight, try to warn the Winchester’s.
“You’re one cold bitch.” Audrey stalled.
Meg breathed in deep closing her eyes and Audrey took a slow step back, gravel crunching under her feet. “I know, I know I am. Isn’t it a beautiful thing?” Opening her eyes again, Audrey stopped.
“You killed my parents.”
Meg laughed, “yes, I know, and you and your idiot brother wanted soooo badly to avenge them.” She whirled around on her toes and Audrey took another two quick steps back. “But you can’t. You can’t beat me.”
Audrey reached the back of the car and went around as Meg slowly advanced while she continued to taunt her. “Well... I guess you now want to avenge him too!” She laughed. Audrey reached in the open window and pulled out her cellphone, since she didn’t know many people in the world she pressed two which speed dialled Bobby Singer.
Meg leaned against the car. “You aren’t going to try and stop me?” Audrey asked.
Laughing Meg shook her head, “they’re going to be so torn up when they hear you die slowly over the phone. I like the idea, nearly poetic.”
“Who the hell’s callin?”
“Hey Bobby,” Audrey breathed and she could feel her breath hitch.
“Audrey?”
“Yeah, it’s me,” she took a step back and Meg nearly danced forward.
“You don’t sound so good.”
“The boys there?”
“Yeah.”
“Put phone on speaker.” Meg shouted.
“Who the hell you with?”
Audrey’s throat felt like it was closing, her vision of Meg blurred and she could only focus on Gabriel’s contorted form. “Gabe is dead.” She said and it felt like she was in the middle of an exorcism a demon ripping at her from the inside out.
“Audrey, you got to fight.”
“Listen Bobby, she’s gunnin’ for the boys next.”
Meg smiled wickedly, her eyes flashing from human to all black and demon.
“Audrey, you got to get out of there!” Sam yelled over speaker.
“You take care of this bitch for me right? You’ll kill her for me right?”
“Audrey.” She could hear the sadness in Dean’s voice.
“Please, just promise.”
“We promise,” Bobby replied his voice seemed off, and tears fell down Audrey’s face.
“Been a hell of a ride boys.”
“I think you have had enough time now,” Meg said checking her watch, “I have other things to do today you know.”
Audrey felt the knife reach up between her rib cage and she dropped the phone. She could hear voices on it screaming at her. Meg ripped the knife out and forced her hand in wiggling around in Audrey’s innards. “You’re so warm,” she cooed as Audrey’s legs could no longer hold up her body, she fell, her head next to the phone.
The knife dug in again, over and over until a numbness washed over. Her breathing was jagged until she sighed out and then, she didn’t breath again.
Meg looked over the corpse and picked up Audrey’s phone with bloodied hands. “You’re next boys.”
**** That's the end. Fan-fics are hard to do, and to keep up with episodes and make the content reflect things that have happened. I don't write my chapters fast enough. Honestly though, this was the same ending I had thought would happen from the beginning. Sad, but the life of a hunter. Besides, it's in Supernatural fashion that everyone Sam and Dean care about die at least once.
<3 thanks for reading.
