Sweeter Than Heaven [Supernatural] Hotter Than Hell (7) Emergency
I had thought the building was sketch on the outside, after entering the front glass door a chill slithered down my spine and left an instinctive heavy rock in my stomach. Every fibre of my being was screaming at me to leave the building, to turn around get into the Rogue and find out a different tactic. This couldn’t be the only psychic, or perhaps I could try searching for a hunter nearby. Despite my instinct I couldn’t move. Gabriel needed help now. This Mystic Meg knew about demons, about hunters. I had to take the chance that she was just a poor psychic who had her building in the wrong part of town.
“Hello,” I turned my head to see the young woman I could only presume to be Mystic Meg. She smiled at me, a wicked mischievous smile. She stood the same height as me, flowing dark chocolate locks, porcelain skin. She didn’t wear what I suspected a woman called “Mystic Meg” would wear. I assumed she’d be in a dress, an eccentrically coloured shawl, beaded necklaces and flowers in her hair. Instead she was in black skinny jeans, a shimmering blue shirt and a black leather jacket over it. “You’re a Lutrelli.”
“Yes,” I responded. I mean, she’s suppose to be psychic, she should know my name. “Audrey.”
Mystic Meg nodded she looked happy. “So... your brother, Gabriel...”
“I don’t know where he is, I need your help. Please.”
Mystic Meg looked a little like she was holding back laughter. “You came just in time. I need to skip town,” she nodded out the window, “that yours?”
I shrugged, “kind of.”
She grinned, “lets go.”
Once we got driving she asked if I had anything of Gabriel’s. I shook my head, “he took all of his things with him in his travel bag.”
“Do you have anything he’s given you? A present perhaps?”
“Yeah,” I pulled a necklace from under my top and drove with my knee as I reached back to undo it. “He made it for me last Christmas.” It was a steampunk necklace, a key with what I suspected to be watch gears attached to it with a silver angel wing to the right side. I’d worn it every day since he’d given it to me. It was probably the only gift he’d ever given me that I absolutely loved. Usually he got car air fresheners or fashion magazines for me.
I handed her my necklace apprehensively. It felt wrong to just take it off and give it to a stranger. Still I knew she couldn’t just take off with it, I was driving a good ten over the limit on the highway.
She closed her eyes and I turned my attention back to the road. Why had Gabriel wanted me to skip town so badly? What was coming? Or what was already there? Who attacked him? Did he get to Peter?
“We should get off the highway,” Mystic Meg told me.
“Why?” I questioned. We both needed to skip town, this was the fastest way.
“There will be an accident up ahead, many delays. Take the next exit.” My gut told me she was lying and I turned to look at her. She ran her fingers over the necklace her eyes still shut. I shook my head, gut feelings weren’t always accurate. I turned off the highway and kept driving straight we went through a small city and into the country.
I sighed, “where are we going?”
“I told you I was going to help you find your brother, okay. Be patient.” I didn’t like her tone of voice, or the cold look in her eyes. I kept driving through the town, it was quiet, and soon we were hitting barren back roads. I checked the rearview when someone started high beaming me. I tried to get a look at the vehicle, but it was useless.
Mystic Meg and I were both thrown forward our seatbelts locking us before we hurt ourselves as the car behind me rear ended me. “What the hell!” I shouted as we were bumped again.
“Floor it,” Mystic Meg yelled over the cracking sound of the other car hitting the Rogue’s back bumper. I nodded and stepped on the gas, the Rogue reacted and sped off but the road was bumpy and jostled us.
“Hold on!”
Mystic Meg reached up and grabbed the handle (or what Gabriel and I affectionately call the ‘oh-shit-bar’) as I tried to miss the bigger potholes. The vehicle behind kept up well enough and hit us once more at the same time I hit a large hole and my back end swiped out and ended up in the ditch.
I was shocked at the sudden stop. The front end of the Rogue pointing toward the road. I floored it but it was definitely stuck in the ditch. Mystic Meg opened her door, and I opened mine stepping out and grabbing my Glock 17 from the back of my pants. The doors on the black Chevy Impala opened and three people stepped out. “Dean? Sam? Dean and Sam’s friend?” I looked at the third male I didn’t know before turning my wrath on the Winchester brothers. “What the hell was that.”
“Audrey?” Both boys looked surprised then looked to Mystic Meg. Dean looked back to me, “Audrey do you know who that is?”
“Mystic Meg,” I responded feeling stupid. “I have to find Gabe.”
“Audrey, come over here,” Dean said slowly as he went back to watching Mystic Meg and I had a gut feeling that my gut feeling had been right about her in the first place.
“Oh boys, it’s been a while. How are the Harvelle’s?” Mystic Meg’s laughter was like nails to a chalkboard for me. “Sorry, too soon?”
I looked to Sam and Dean, both of them looked ready to start a fight, and I had a bad feeling the Harvelle mother-daughter hunting duo was no more. “What is going on?” I asked finally.
“Audrey, this is Meg. Demon Meg. Big bitch Meg,” Dean seemed like he could keep on going on but Meg cut him off.
“Oh Dean, you’re so sweet,” she grinned maliciously. “And as much as I’d just love to take care of you boys. I really have to get back to what I was actually doing.”
“You’re going to help me find my brother.”
Meg laughed again. “Oh, Audrey, Audrey, Audrey.” Meg looked like she could hardly contain her glee. “I’ve already found Gabriel, and he told you to skip town. Instead you try and get in town help. Stupid, stupid girl.” Meg shook her head. “When I seen you searching for psychics,” she shrugged, “I killed the woman working the phone and you came right to me.” Meg laughed once more, “you got to admit, it’s a little funny.”
“You bitch,” I whipped out my Glock 17 and pointed it right at her head, shot off two rounds but missed both.
Meg snickered, “you’re a terrible shot, at least your brother got one shot in the shoulder before I knocked him out.”
I dropped my Glock 17 and reached down to my boots pulling out a broken butterfly knife. Flipping it around my fingers. “Difference between Gabe and I,” I said charging at her she ducked and I swung over she tried to grab for my arm but I pulled it back and darted my one leg between hers ducking to the side, my leg tripped her back and I put the knife to her throat, “is he’s good with guns,” I said panting, as my hand slipped down my shirt I grabbed my vial of holy water. “And I’m good with close combat.” I dropped the knife and sitting on her stomach I forced her mouth open and dumped the vial down her throat and covered her mouth with my hand to keep her from spitting it up. “Where is my brother, bitch?”
She convulsed under me, the holy water reacting with her. “Audrey,” I didn’t look back but I heard an undertone of worry in Sam’s voice. “Get in the car. Quick.” I took the moment to look up and seen demons, no doubt friends of Meg’s, come out of the woods.
I grabbed my necklace back from her pocket before looking her dead in the eye. “You better not have done anything to my brother, or I swear to God I will hunt you down, and I will make you feel pain worse than anything you have ever felt, and I’ll keep it up for a good long while before I make sure you’re dead and can never come back.”
I stood and Sam grabbed my arm pulling me toward the car, I got in the back and Sam got in the front passengers side. Dean shoved the car in reverse and turned the car away from the demons and sped down the road toward town. “What were you all doing there?” I asked.
“Looking for Meg,” Sam responded gruffly. “We have a score to settle.”
“The Harvelle’s... I whispered. “They’re...”
“Gone,” Dean said quietly.
“I have to find Gabriel.”
“The angel?” I turned to the handsome man sitting next to me.
“Where did you get the accountant from?” I asked looking him over.
“Audrey, Castiel, Castiel, Audrey,” Sam introduced.
“Castiel?” I raised an eyebrow, it was a rather odd name.
“Why are you looking for the angel Gabriel?” Castiel asked again.
I shook my head, “one; angels aren’t real.” I heard Dean snicker in the front seat. “And two; I’m looking for my brother, Gabriel.”
“Angels are real,” Castiel said with a deadpan face.
“Seriously, where did you guys get him?” I asked the Winchester’s.
