Boot Camp For Terribly Twisted Teens [Chapter 46] Major Injuries
“If that’s Leon, where is Claire?” Scott asked.
“Did Claire ever leave?” Nina asked tears falling down her face. “Did she?”
“I don’t know,” Thayne admitted, “everything happened so fast.”
“Son of a bitch,” Mary whispered.
Hawkeye flipped Leon over carefully. Under Leon was Claire, from the positioning, it was obvious he had carried her out. “Jesus.”
They heard a van stop and everyone froze looking over. Tori stood in a second, blue lightning jolting all over her body snapping menacingly. “Wait a second,” Rick ordered. “Hawk?”
Hawkeye tore his eyes from Leon and Claire and zoned in on the truck. “Some of our old teachers. Anger management, Art, and P.E.”
“No fucking way,” Anna responded angrily, and suddenly the duplicates were all individuals angry and standing in different positions.
“They picked the wrong time to come here,” Mary said standing. “Apparently they have no idea how many people just died horrible deaths, how many spirits are around.”
“Don’t do it Mary!” Anna replied. “Remember last time. You turned on your own team!”
“Anna! What else do we do, Rick can’t tell the future right now, Hawkeye can only see good. Everyone is down and out.”
“I was down, but I sure as hell ain’t out!” Robyn retorted angrily. “Those monsters...”
“Robyn...” Thayne spoke softly. “Lets not loose that temper of yours.”
“Anger might be good in this case.”
“Last time you freaked out, you nearly got us all killed and it got you and Nina captured remember?” Thayne said softly, “you need to keep your cool.”
“I’m stronger when I’m angrier,” Robyn responded.
“We can’t go far or they will have control!” Thayne responded sharply.
“Fuck,” Robyn cursed. “I forgot.”
“I’ll fry these pricks,” Tori said.
“I’ll help distract them,” Anna said and the girls looked at each other for a minute before simply nodding. Tori took off first but Anna and her duplicates took the lead pretty quick.
Hawkeye tried to awaken Leon. Shaking him. The snow under Claire was a dark crimson washing out to a light pink further out. He checked her pulse for a second. “God help me,” he slammed down on her chest hard. “Robyn give me a hand.” Hawkeye tilted back her chin and blew into Claire’s mouth.
Robyn sat down by Claire’s mid-section and started to pump her lungs, “feels familiar...”
“Like just yesterday she was drowning,” Hawkeye responded starkly.
“Yeah, like that.” They kept at it. “She’s not waking up Hawk, she’s not waking up!”
Another car pulled in, “you’ve got to be kidding me.” Scott murmured as much as he wanted to help, he couldn’t risk getting to far from the transmitter.
This time thought, it was welcome help. Tori and Anna had already killed the three teachers. And let their shoulders slump as Liam, Lily and Dr. Allen came out of a truck.
“Claire!” Lily’s shrill voice cut through the icy air. She dropped next to Claire. “Claire? Claire.” Hawkeye and Robyn stopped doing CPR and just looked at each other, both with tears in their eyes. “Baby, come on, get up!” Lily pulled her daughter onto her lap. “Clairissa, come on, you can’t leave me, you can’t leave me! Wake up Claire, come on, wake up!”
“The transmitter who has it?” Allen asked.
“Leon,” Scott replied pointing.
Allen hovered over him and found the transmitter putting it in his pocket. “He hasn’t much external trauma, which means it’s probably internal.”
Allen dropped next to Hiro’s ever changing form. Rick kept pressure on the one thing that stayed the same. The large wound. “Lets see.” Rick kept pressure for a few seconds longer before pulling away. “Shit. Okay, we need to get back to the facility as soon as possible.” Allen whipped out his phone and phoned the institute and told them to get more doctors immediately.
J.C was alert now, but groggy and the gash was still bleeding, though less than before. It took a while, but they got everyone into the vehicle, the difficult one being Thayne with the long steel pole in his head. Lily held Claire in her arms, refusing to let go despite the no heartbeat, despite her no longer breathing.
At the institute, doctors were working hard on the most injured, nurses and people with first aid worked on those with lesser injuries, and those people waited, and waited for news. Daniel paced, “I can’t believe this, I can’t believe this!” The day had started off pretty crappy. Finding his sister with his best friend, being pushed through a glass door, the hours of getting that glass pulled out, and now Claire...
“It was probably the argument with you that pushed her over the edge,” Tori bit. “She’s always worshipped you, especially after Lily left. She looked up to you!”
“Are you saying it’s my fault my sister is dead!” Daniel screamed grabbing Tori’s arms and she emitted a shock to him and he jumped back.
“I’m saying you sure as fuck didn’t help.”
“Guys, enough,” Rick interjected, “this isn’t helping.”
“Claire is dead?” Everyone turned to see Cory with a look of shock on his face.
“Fuck,” Daniel’s look of rage slipped away and there was only grief left. He fell to his knees as his little brother rushed over and hugged him tight.
J.C came out of the doctor’s office, some of her hair shaved off and a large wrapped bandage on her head.
“You okay?” Anna and Mary asked going over to her quickly.
“I’ll be fine. There are people in there, far worse off than I am.” She sighed, “could you guys help me upstairs, I’m feeling a little dizzy.”
“Of course,” the twins responded. Upstairs J.C broke into tears. “Don’t go in the doctor’s office.”
“J.C?” Anna whispered.
“You don’t want to see it. None of it.”
“Do you want to talk about it?” Mary asked kindly. “Get it off your chest. We’ve already seen the injuries, it’s not going to scar us anymore.”
J.C dropped and the two girls dropped with her. “It’s awful! Lily won’t let go of Claire. Just keeps pleading with her, like pleading will bring her back to life. She’s dead guys, she’s really dead. Hawk and Robyn did CPR, two doctors tried to shock her, tried CPR themselves, she’s not comin’ back guys, she’s gone, she’s really gone.” She took in a great sobbing breath, “and Thayne, they had to put him under, they’re going to have to saw some of his skull. I head the doctors talking about it. They don’t even know how he is still alive. They took the chip out of my head. And they are doing it to the others, I’m scared, it’s brain surgery.”
“They’re strong people J.C,” Anna whispered comfortingly, “they will be okay.”
“Nick hasn’t woken up yet. Liam is furious, he doesn’t know who to hate more. He was yelling when he was in the doctors office. About Claire, about Daniel. It was scary!” She sniffled. “Leon hasn’t woken up, they think he’s got internal bleeding, they were cutting him open when I left, it was horrifying!”
“Come on J.C, let’s get you to bed,” Mary insisted.
“You guys won’t leave me right?”
“No, we’ll stay with you.” Anna replied as she and Mary lifted their friend from the floor.
“We promise,” Anna and Mary said at the same time.
“If that’s Leon, where is Claire?” Scott asked.
